The bulk liquids market continues to grow, and that means transport services like GOCO Transports are growing, too. We like to not only get to know our staff a bit better, but to share their viewpoints of what it’s like to do what they do.
For truck drivers Drew Lassere and Paul Higginbotham, hauling liquid freight is more than just an exciting career. Being part of something bigger and doing valuable work with a supportive team is rewarding – in addition to the satisfaction of being home every night – a major consideration for many drivers.
We recently had a visit with the two GOCO Transport drivers to talk about their experiences with the company and what it’s like to work for an industry leader in the hauling of bulk liquid freight.
Q: What first attracted you two to GOCO Transports?
Drew Lassere: I was interested in the possibility of starting a new career with a great company.
Paul Higginbotham: I wanted a fresh start and a company who’d give me the chance to grow.
Q: What were your initial impressions of the company when you started?
DL: Right away, I thought it was a professional company with exceptional employees.
PH: I liked it immediately because I met the owner, Grady, and he seemed like a normal guy who talked to us like regular people. That put me at ease.
Q: What excites you about coming to work every day?
DL: I love the ability to drive a truck and meet with our customers. I love being able to represent this company and interact with other employees.
PH: I love hauling fuel every day and being part of GOCO Transports, and the ability to be home every night is huge.
Q: What makes you stand behind the liquid freight hauling services you provide?
DL: It’s a combination of great products and efficient service. Really just as simple as that.
PH: Exactly. We also have a lot of good drivers and managers with this company so it’s a well-rounded experience for employees and customers.
Q: How would you describe the work atmosphere and culture here?
DL: We are very effective since we work as a team. Leadership listens to our concerns and often makes changes for the betterment of the company.
PH: Yeah, it really feels like the company cares. It’s like a family.
Q: If you had to describe GOCO Transports in three words, what would they be?
DL: Reliable. Efficient. Team.
PH: I’d say efficient, thorough and family.
Q: Teamwork and camaraderie are important in any company, but especially in transport. How would you characterize your coworkers?
DL: They’re easy to work with and will always lend a hand when necessary.
PH: Everybody works well with each other, everyone really cares and it shows.
Q: What advice would you give to someone who is considering working at GOCO Transports?
DL: Do it! This is a supportive company willing to make an investment in your future.
PH: Go for it! It’s a really good career to get into.
Thank you Drew and Paul! We appreciate your time and all the great work you do for the company.
